MEXICO UPDATE Things are still in upheaval in Rio
Bravo with some signs of settling down a little.
Arrangements are still being made to complete the home although
communications have been difficult. In
the mean time,
phase 3 of the Lectura Para La Vida book program is kicking off
with new books and study guides.
Join us on July 11th , as we travel to Church of the Servant in OKC for a special time of worship. We will leave at 4:30 pm and return at 9 pm. If you can bring a snack, it would be helpful. Come “OVERFLOW” with us!!
DISCIPLE CAMP A great group of our students just returned from a powerful week of camp at Disciple Camp. Disciple is a mid high camp that features students from all over the state of Oklahoma. It was held this year at camp WOW between Ada and McAlaster. The week included some powerful times of worship, small groups, Panel discussions, and amazing amounts of fun and fellowship. Everyone that went was challenged in amazing ways to truly put God first in their lives. Several of our students shared powerful testimonies of God working in their lives with our evening church chat. In next month’s newsletter we will share a couple of those. Just know that even for our youngest students God is working in powerful ways. Thanks to all of you who prayed for these students and made it possible for them to go.
Dayspring Camp High School Summer Camp Dayspring Camp is our high school (9-12) grade camp designed to provide an opportunity for students to experience faith and make it an intimate part of their lives. The week focuses on helping students encounter Christ through a variety of means and to learn to share their faith and Christ as they have experienced God’s grace. The camp is held at Canyon Camp near Hinton and includes churches from throughout western Oklahoma. The camp will run from July 19-23. Students will daily meet with their B.A.S.I.C. group (Brothers and Sisters in Christ) to share their faith and explore the Bible as well as worship twice daily and spend T.A.G. (Time Alone with God) and other forums to explore faith issues. Each evening wraps up with Church Chat and a Late Night Option for social interaction. Cost for the week is $110. If you are going into 9th grade and up, this is a great place for you to “RISK” growing in Grace.

Wednesday Nights
What a great start to our Road Trips this year. Our first two road trips of this summer have been amazing. These are a great time of growing together in a real world situation. We will have two more road trips in July. On the 14th, we will have one and on the 28th. Both will run from 5-9:30. One will involve a study on water and the other on serving others. Join us for both of these great times together. Watch for more details. There will be no Wednesday night events on the 7th or 21st due to camps.
LAWTON YOUTH FORCE Final preparations are coming together for Lawton Youth Force. This is the premier opportunity for you to experience living for Christ in a community of believers. Each day will include super early morning, long work days, lots of heat, cold showers and cramped quarters; but what else could you hope for. In the midst of it you will encounter Christ through times of prayer, changed lives, worship, devotions and a greater understanding of who you are and God’s plan for your life. The event takes place July 5-10 right here at First Church as over 110 campers from all over Oklahoma converge to make a Christian difference in the Lawton community. Your cost for ALL of this is $110. If you aren’t signed up, contact Pat right away at the church; and we may still be able to get you in. The theme is “Crazy Love.” If you don’t know what that’s about, you will be the end of the week. For more information contact Pat. DON’T MISS IT!!
School’s out and with that things change on Wednesday
nights. You need to pay
attention as each week offers unique opportunities to experience Christ
and Christian fellowship. The
consistent elements are a meal ($2), fun and games and a time of Bible
study. Some weeks will be
about hitting the road to experience God’s Word (see article below).
Others will be in house learning and even serving others.
Don’t miss out on these special times.
SUNDAY OPPORTUNITIES We are still making a few changes on Sundays to make it an even better time to experience both great Bible Study and life-changing Christian fellowship. We hope you give it a try and see what all is in store for you. Below is a quick overview of our new look.
